"Sakura" (Cherry Blossom) at

Kanazawa Castle Park

Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Pref.

Kanazawa Castle is a favorite symbol of citizens of Kanazawa City.

The donjon(main castle tower) was burned down by lightning in 1602 and a new donjon was never rebuilt.

Although almost whole castle was destroyed by a big fire in 1759, the lshikawa-mon is reconstructed in 1788 and that became a symbol of Kanazawa Castle now.

The Ishikawamon Gate is know as major cherry blossom viewing spots.

One of three major gardens in Japan, Kenrokuen Graden, near Kanazawa Castle is another Sakura viewing spot.
